The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked reference 15407ST.OO.1220ST.01 combines the unmistakable architecture of the Royal Oak with an innovative openworked self-winding movement.

Introduced in 2016, the model brought Audemars Piguet’s patented double balance wheel system to a 41 mm Royal Oak case. Two balance wheels and two balance springs are mounted on the same axis, creating a highly distinctive mechanical display visible from both sides of the watch.

The absence of a conventional dial reveals the movement’s bridges, wheels and regulating organs. Applied hour markers and Royal Oak hands appear to float above the mechanism while preserving a clear and balanced time display.

Alternating brushed and polished surfaces emphasize the octagonal bezel, exposed screws and integrated bracelet that have defined the Royal Oak collection since its introduction.

Double Balance Wheel System

Two balance wheels and balance springs are assembled coaxially, helping compensate for variations and improving the movement’s precision and stability.

Openworked Architecture

The bridges and plates are extensively opened to reveal the mechanical components while maintaining the structural strength required by the calibre.

Automatic Calibre 3132

The self-winding movement displays hours, minutes and central seconds and provides approximately 45 hours of power reserve.

Hand-Finished Steel Case

Satin-brushed surfaces are contrasted by polished bevels across the case and bezel, highlighting the Royal Oak’s angular construction.

Sapphire Display Back

Glareproofed sapphire crystals on both sides offer an uninterrupted view of the openworked calibre and its double balance mechanism.

Integrated Steel Bracelet

The stainless-steel bracelet follows the lines of the case and combines brushed links, polished bevels and an AP double-folding clasp.
